And two became three....
The mountain, in haze
the bluebird, in song
the hay baled, in rounds
day lilies, in bloomthe future, is here
On May 22nd 2007 Madeleine Rose came out into the light, healthy and hollering, a couple weeks early. For those into the statistics, 6 lbs 8 oz and 18 and a half inches long. Mom and Dad are happy, and Madeleine is a wonderful and welcome addition to our lives. She also seems pretty content. We are pretty lucky! Her ancestors fought in the American Revolution and Civil War, fled their coffee plantation in Castro's Cuba, and left far distant lands like England, Ireland, Poland, Scotland and Spain to make long dangerous journeys across the Atlantic to a new life. In a way there is a little of all their stories coursing through her veins. And a whole lot of what makes us American.
